If the explorer in you is looking for a little adventure, this ethnographic museum is the right answer! Located in an incredible array of caves, it will teach you more about gypsy settlers, the region's diverse geography, and its history. You can also enjoy beautiful views of the Alhambra!

Gypsies (today also known as Romani) settled in Granada in the eighteenth century, on the slopes of Cerro de San Miguel. For centuries, the caves of Sacromonte were their home.

Here, in what is now the Cuevas del Sacromonte Museum, you can explore ten reproduced caves and learn more about the lifestyle and vibrant culture of dwelling in caves.

You will see how the houses were arranged, how the ancient decorations were created using basic tools, and also forged traditional handicrafts, or wicker, then ceramics and textiles. In the Nature Room you will learn more about the agriculture, plants and climate that helped them live in this area.

The museum also includes a nature trail that leads up to a life-size model of the Darro Valley, with sensational views of the valley and the Alhambra.
